Town meeting and proprietor's records, 1726-1762; documents about town and individual property boundaries; writs of attachment, summonses, complaints to the Justices of the Peace and court depositions, 1718-1810; bills to the town for caring for and warning out the poor, 1739-1741, 1818; petitions, surveys and bills and receipts related to building and maintaining roads and bridges, 1737-1787; deeds and land surveys, 1726-1830; wills, inventories, distribution records and other probate documents primarily related to Ruth and John Post and Prudence and Isaac Kimball, 1681-1814; bonds, 1726-1802; indentures, 1737-1768; tax lists, 1730-1777; and financial records of the town of Norwich and its residents. Also the correspondence of Justice of the Peace Isaac Huntington and James Backus, and correspondence of the Backus and Reynolds families. Of particular note are the 1730 tax list, and the iron account of Elijah Backus, 1758, in the Backus correspondence folder. Isaac Huntington's name appears in most if not all of these records.
